How long do I have to complete my Pool Operator Primer?Primer courses must be completed at least 24 hours prior to the review and examination day. The instructor must have your completed certification prior to the start of class. If students do not have the primer course completed for the class the student will not be allowed in the class. At the instructor's discretion, students may be able to join the next class. The course must be completed within 6 months of the completion of the primer.

Can I retake the exam if I do not pass?Allowing the retaking of the exam is at the instructor's option.

What do I need to bring to my class?Students must have their government issued ID and a calculator (other than a phone).

What states accept PHTA CPO certification?While not all states require certification, PHTA meets all states requirements that have training regulations. South Carolina and Florida do require additional test questions relevant to their specific code. These will be included in the examination of this class for any students that identify operating pools in this state.

How long will my CPO certification be good for?The PHTA Certified Pool Operation Certification is good for 5 years. However, some regulatory agencies may require that you update more frequently.

Is the exam an open book or closed book?Students are encouraged to use their Pool & Spa Operators Handbook and class notes on their test. The rationale is that if you can find an answer to an exam questions, you can find an answer to a pool problem. Calculators may also be used on the exams but phones/computers are not allowed.

What is required to become certified?Students must complete the required course and pass an exam with a minimum passing score of 74%.

What is your cancelation policy?MyCPOclass does not accept cancelations but will allow rescheduling as long as 48 hour notice is provided.
